Terms of Service & Player Agreement
1. Acceptance of Terms & Eligibility
By registering an account, accessing, or playing Lib Life (accessible at lib-life.com, lib-life.jositett.workers.dev, and associated mobile/PWA instances), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you must immediately discontinue use of the game.
18+ Age Requirement: Lib Life includes mature simulated themes including street nightlife, club venues, simulated sports prediction ("Kel Bets"), simulated robberies, and elective in-game digital purchases. You explicitly affirm that you are at least 18 years old or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction.
2. User Accounts & Security
- Account Creation: You must provide an authentic email address and select a unique username. Each user is permitted one primary active account.
- Credential Protection: Passwords are cryptographically hashed using PBKDF2. You are solely responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all actions that occur under your account.
- Account Transfers: Accounts, characters, and accumulated in-game assets may not be sold, rented, or traded for real-world currency (RMT). Any accounts detected engaging in RMT will be permanently banned.
3. Closed-Loop Virtual Currency & Digital Assets
Lib Life features an internal virtual currency known as Liberian Dollars (L$). You acknowledge and agree that:
- No Real-World Value: In-game L$, virtual real estate, clothes, cars, planes, and businesses are licensed digital entertainment goods. They possess zero real-world currency value and can never be exchanged, redeemed, or cashed out for fiat money, cryptocurrencies, or real goods.
- Digital Goods Delivery: Optional purchases of in-game L$ packages made via MTN Mobile Money or Orange Money are delivered immediately upon carrier reconciliation and are final. Please refer to our Refund Policy.
- Economy Balancing: The operators reserve the right to tune game economics, prices, wages, taxes, and decay rates to maintain server balance and multiplayer fairness.
4. Gameplay Mechanics & Community Conduct
Lib Life is a live multiplayer social simulation. Players must adhere to standards of fair play and respect:
- Simulated PvP & Crime Mechanics: Game systems such as pickpocketing, robbery attempts, and street confrontations are fictional mechanics governed by game math, cooldown timers, and hospital recovery periods. Coordinating targeted real-world harassment, stalking, or exploiting software vulnerabilities against other players is strictly forbidden.
- Prohibited Conduct: You may not use automated scripts, bots, packet sniffers, or macros to automate gameplay actions. You may not broadcast hate speech, harassment, defamation, or unsolicited commercial spam in game chat.
- City Government & Staff Mechanics: City worker positions, public space design, and elections are communal game systems. Attempting to bribe administrators with real money or exploit city worker tools for personal griefing will result in immediate role revocation.
5. Intellectual Property Rights
All software code, art assets, isometric renderings, Liberian food illustrations, music, sound effects, and character sprites are the intellectual property of the Lib Life development team. You are granted a personal, revocable, non-exclusive license to play the game in your browser or device for non-commercial personal entertainment.
6. Termination and Sanctions
We reserve the right to suspend, terminate, or delete any account that violates these Terms of Service, engages in fraudulent payment submissions, abuses administrative tools, or harms the multiplayer experience of others. Terminated accounts forfeit all accumulated virtual items and currency.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability
Lib Life is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. While we strive for 99.9% uptime, we do not guarantee uninterrupted server availability, zero latency, or freedom from simulated power outages ("LEC current na carry"). To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, punitive, or consequential damages.
8. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Liberia. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Monrovia, Liberia.
